TSMC, Samsung and Intel’s global production presence

TSMC is expanding its production capacity in  Europe, with a new fab (fabrication plant) under construction in  Dresden, Germany. This will make TSMC the only foundry (amongst the  three mentioned foundries) with a presence in all three major regions:  Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Intel Corporation has several fabs located in the United States, and it is also building  new fabs in Arizona, Ohio, and Germany. However, Intel has yet to prove  that it can be a competitive foundry player.
